Bio

Ms. Tallent is a West Michigan native and earned her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in advertising and public relations from Michigan State University. She earned her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, where she was an editor for the Animal and Natural Resources Law Review, an E-board member of the Progressive Legal Society, and a member of the Criminal Defense Association, Michigan Leadership Initiative, Middle Eastern Law Student Association, and the Women’s Law Caucus.

Kim has experience with the Office of Legal Counsel for Governor Whitmer and other private law firms, where she provided litigation support to estate planning, municipal law, business/corporate law, and general litigation matters. She also was a law clerk with the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, Justice for Our Neighbors, and the Muskegon Public Defender.

As a descendant of immigrants, Kim is especially interested in the intersection of criminal defense and immigration defense. She draws upon her rich cultural background while representing clients in criminal and family law matters.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking and being outdoors, and trying out new foods at local restaurants.
