Evan G. Hebert is an associate attorney specializing in criminal defense at Brandon Gardner & Associates. Prior to joining the team, Evan practiced law in Michigan as a litigation attorney, first as an associate at Michigan's largest law firm and then as a solo attorney. He has litigated cases in jurisdictions across the state, in the Michigan Court of Appeals, and in the US Federal Judiciary.
Evan graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law and earned his law license in 2018. Before becoming an attorney, Evan ran an award-winning legal blog called Sovereignty & Sophistry. He has also published research on police misconduct and criminal justice. Evan worked at the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, assisting in drafting the cannabis laws that now govern Michigan. As a student at Michigan State University’s James Madison College, he was captain of the intercollegiate debate team and won national recognition.
Evan is passionate about education and criminal justice reform. He is a longstanding member and volunteer at the Michigan Center for Civic Education, which develops critical thinking and legal analysis skills for high school students.
